Our goal is to bring the exotic and healthy dishes from the vastly diverse country of India and it's neighbouring countries. The menu will focus on creating dishes with fresh ingridients from the local suppliers, infused with an array of authentic sauces, charecterized by the use of different blend of spices and herbs.

Authentic Indian cuisine on Maui
Indian cooking derives from a 5000-year-old timeline, during which culture has changed, geographical boundaries have changed significantly leading to confusing terms such as sub-continental cuisine while other parts of a region want a separate culinary identity. Indian Cooking has however evolved significantly over time and the varying influences brought into the country by the various rulers and travelers, it has not lost its original identity, rather become richer with the assimilation of the myriad influences.

"There's no getting around the fact that we don't have much Indian cuisine in Hawaii. It's almost out of our comfort zone, a surprising fact given the melting pot of Asian, Polynesian and fusion available. Thankfully, Saffron Indian Cafe and Grill is giving us a chance to redeem and expand our food palates with their fresh and authentic dishes served at reasonable prices."

"Stumbled out of Boss Frogs after returning snorkeling equipment when out jumped a young server named Teresa from Saffron next door. She asked us if we wanted to try some authentic Indian food and raved about the wraps. She was very earnest and welcoming so we thought what the heck. We ate a very tasty naan wrapped chicken tiki masala and the lamb tiki masala. The owner RJ and the chef came out to greet us and we chatted with each of them for a while. It was a slow day but nonetheless they each took the time to make us feel welcomed."
